Hi. This was my project called the Tower of Order and Chaos.
2005 was my fourth year in the desert. From the original conception, to certain design details, to the shear logistics involved in funding, transporting, and setting up it did take three successive years to pull it off. The tower was just over 50 feet tall. I am sure now I could reduce that time down to one year, but it was quite the journey. I will leave the question of my personal habits be.
Needless to say, when the lines were severed and I found it lying on the ground I was both shoked and disappointed, but grateful no one was hurt. I decided to take that experience and learn what I could from it. I also let it motivate me to pick up the pieces as it were and keep me moving forward. Since then I completed another tower during 2006 called the Tower of Triumphant Struggle.
Burning Man 2007 promises to showcase my biggest project yet. It will involve some tower elements but is a five-time expansion of my various ideas. I can't say much more now.
The power in this photograph is phenomenal. it is evocative of sculptures done in commemoration of disasters and human tragedies befitting monumental depiction. I would retitle this one simply as "parent" and anyone who is one will understand the merits of renaming.
This is the best night time shot yet! Thank you Waldemar!!! The piece is called Twilight Anima Rising. more pix at www.mardistorm.com (this one will be added :)
